Andrew Debenham

Andrew (Co-Owner) is a former Critical Care EMT/P and was certified in both Canada and the US.   He started teaching in the year 2000, and has since had his wife Paula join him with these life saving programs and services. He is the head trainer with the rare qualification as an Advanced Emergency Care Instructor Trainer and teaches Pre-Hospital staff, EMS and Hospital personnel.  He wishes to share his knowledge and expertise to all Manitoban's by running premium run courses at rates for all budgets.

Paula Debenham

Canadian Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor   2003-present
Paula (Co-owner) is an aboriginal woman originally from Lac Des Mille Lacs Reserve in Ontario and received her First Aid Instructor Certification in 2003 and Emergency Medical Responder stature in 2006.  She has been a member of the Aboriginal Circle of Educators, Aboriginal Business Canada, and Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce and is currently focused on helping all people learn these life saving techniques both through modern science and traditional medicines.


Jiya Verma

Assistant Office Manager/Administrative Assistant & Canadian Red Cross CPR / First Aid Instructor  2023 - Present

Jiya has a very friendly and out going personality.  She moved to Canada in December 2022 and is a perfect fit as one of our office administrative assistants.  When not answering calls or emails, she is doing a lot of the behind the scenes work, such as logging in participants into the data base, keeping the coffee and snacks replenished and assisting instructors with seminars as needed.  In addition to English, she is also fluent in Punjabi and Hindi (& a bit of Sanskrit) and would be happy to help all who are attending the seminar.

Taranvir Kaur

Office Administrative Assistant & Canadian Red Cross CPR / First Aid Instructor  - 2024 to present

Camille is Paula's sister and had worked in the administrative role with us for over 10 years. She now moonlights as an instructor aside from her current position with RETSD.  It's always a pleasure to see her at our office and our customers enjoy her years of experience in training.

We're privileged to have Chris as one of our long time instructors.  He's been teaching first aid / cpr programs for 20 years, was the director of operations of first aid in Manitoba and has a degree in Microbiology.  His knowledge, humor and background are a wonderful asset.

Tim is a long time instructor with us and a 20 +/- year veteran with the Fire Department.   His knowledge and background in first aid are a tremendous asset when teaching with our organization.

Brian Christenson

Canadian Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor:  2004 - Present

Brian was part of the First Paramedic course held in Manitoba.  He shares that credential with fellow instructor Lloyd Wally at our office.  Brian has been teaching First Aid / CPR since his retirement from EMS for many years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share in the classroom.  He's a great asset to our First Aid Instructor team and we hope you can attend a seminar with him in the near future!

Marius

Marius started his career as a paramedic in New York City for over a decade, then a flight Medic in Ontario.  He has since moved to Winnipeg and teaches a variety of programs for both the public and professionals.   His knowledge and love of teaching these life saving skills is evident with every course.  He's a pleasure to work with and he looks forward to seeing you soon.


Ezri Bernard

Ezri puts on an energetic, fun and fast paced program.  With her EMR experience and teaching background, you can feel confident you'll learn a lot and have fun too.  Having known Ezri for a few years and the family for decades, we're happy she joined our team in the summer of 2025 and look forward to many more years to come.

Roxanne

Roxanne Rummery

Roxanne is a former Air Ambulance Paramedic based out of Ontario with a teaching background in First Aid for over 20 years. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of helping people in emergency situations. She looks forward to training you soon!

Bonnie Coad

Bonnie has a unique reason for becoming an instructor.  Her husband had a cardiac arrest event at home and Bonnie had no formal training.  With help from 911 coaching, she successfully resuscitated her husband and is doing well to this day.  She wants everyone to learn these lifesaving techniques that could save the life of the ones you love most.  Thank you for joining our team Bonnie!

Dr. Sabrina Curi

CPR, First Aid, BLS, ACLS and PALS Instructor 

Sabrina has worked over 20 years practicing medicine in Brazil both in the hospital as a pediatric physician and on the Ambulance.
Her family moved to Canada a number of years ago and recently moved to Winnipeg (fall of 2025) where she will now be teaching a variety of programs with us.  In addition to teaching first aid seminars in English, she is also fluent in Portugeuse.
We welcome Sabrina to our team and look forward to many years of working together.

George Anderson

George started as an EMT in the early 1990's and has since devoted his life to helping people around the world.  He brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the seminars not to mention his "dad jokes" sense of humor.  We're sure you'll love his teaching style.

Derrick Donovan

Canadian Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor   2018 - present
Derrick is not only an instructor with us, but also started as a first aid student of ours at the age of 15 years old.  Because he enjoyed learning how to save a life so much, he became a Paramedic in 2015 and more recently, is practicing as a Clinician as he finishes his nursing degree.   We're so happy to have helped him achieve his goals to work in Emergency Medicine and teach people these life saving skills.

Sean Donovan

Canadian Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor:  2022 - Present

Sean is a retired peace officer and father to Derrick Donovan (as listed next).  Sean spent 20 years with the military police and then continued on with the City of Winnipeg Police for a total of nearly 40 years of active duty.  We appreciate his service to the people of this country.  He adds real life experience to his programs and is a great asset to our First Aid Instructor team.  We hope you can meet him soon!

Hannah Ragetli

Hannah is currently schooling for her nursing license and enjoys teaching the BLS program for all that require this certification for schooling or work.  We're happy to have her as part of our team of instructors.

Bailey is one of our Bilingual Instructors and teaches seminars in both English and French.  With a background of teaching and tutoring, she puts on a fun and informative program for everyone to enjoy. We're sure you'll have a great time!

Tisianne Murorunkwere

Canadian Red Cross CPR / First Aid Instructor:  2023 - Present

Tisianne is currently finishing her 4 year nursing degree and looks forward not only to teaching people First Aid & CPR, but also actively helping people with a variety of injuries or conditions.  She is one of our Bi-lingual instructors speaking both English and French Fluently.  We appreciate her knowledge and friendship and look forward to many more years with us at the training centre.

Chloe Manaigre

Canadian Red Cross CPR / First Aid Instructor  2021-Present
Chloe is a recent graduate of the St. Boniface University 4-year nursing program (2023) and is currently practicing as a nurse in the Emergency Room Department.  An instructor with us from 2021-present, her bilingual skills in both French and English as well as medical background are a wonderful asset to teaching an informative and fun course.

Canadian Red Cross CPR / First Aid Instructor:  2019 - Present

Sydney completed her First Responder program in 2019 and is one of our Bilingual instructors teaching both French and English courses.  Her love and zeal  in helping others is  evident  when teaching all her First Aid seminars with us.

CJ

CJ is a retired paramedic and enjoys helping people learn these life saving skills.  She's a busy mon now raising her kids, but still makes time to teach some First Aid / CPR on the side from her busy schedule and is much apprecaited.  Keep up the good work CJ!

Rose McEvoy

We congratulate Rose on 30 years of service with the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and joining our team in 2025.  Her years of experience in the field will be a great asset in helping people learn these life saving skills.  We welcome you to the team and look forward to working for many years alongside you.

Nilaya

One of our younger instructors, Nilaya has a life guarding background and was a good transition to move into First Aid.  We welcome her as part of our instructor team and look forward to working with her in the years to come.


Stephen Kennedy

Stephen is a 31 year Flight paramedic veteran from England. Stephen's knowledge and experience are huge asset and enjoys training both the public and medical professionals alike.

 

Jerry Kozub

Canadian Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor  2010-Present

Jerry Kozub has a 40 year background with Health and Safety and human resources in Manitoba.  His knowledge of workplace regulations are invaluable as he assists us with teaching our programs.  He also is our AED specialist, and would be more than happy to answer any questions you have regarding our products.

Lisa has a degree in education and currently works as an EA within a Manitoba School Division.  Her background in teaching and years of experience with First Aid Instruction makes for a fun and informative course.

Lloyd Wally

Canadian Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor:  2015 - Present

Lloyd recently retired from the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service after 42 years of service and has been with us as an instructor since 2015.  Lloyd was in the first Paramedic class in Manitoba when it began to be offered.  He is an inspiration to us all and we appreciate his knowledge and friendship that we've cultivated over the past 35 years.
